La Preneuse at a glance
is a public beach in western coast of the island Mauritius in the district of Rivière Noire located in the village of Black River. The beach is home to the best preserved Martello tower in Mauritius. The beach is protected by sandbags along the shoreline, so some parts of the water are not easily accessible, but it is a quiet beach and perfect for a walk. You'll see fishing boats bobbing in the water and many boat trips depart from this area, so you can explore the ocean and hope to see local pods of dolphins which are often spotted along this coastline.
